NOT QUITE TERRESTRIAL (DRAFT ONE) #3
BY NATE RAYMOND

PAGE 1, SPLASH PAGE

This is the “I’m flying” Titanic spoof. Have Matt and Sierra looking like Jack and Rose were in that scene except Matt should have a baseball cap on and Sierra should have her mask on. Oh, and the entire point of this is to show how Sierra felt about flying with Matt the previous issue. Do the title in the Titanic style.

SIERRA
I’m flying!

TITLE
Down Goes The Ship

CREDITS
Nate1234, The Captain
Katroz, First Mate
Blue Arsenic, The Skipper

PAGE 2, 4 PANELS

Panel 1
Sierra is tapped on the shoulder by Matt, though we shouldn’t be able to see his face. Sierra’s sleeping in a chair next to her dad’s bed in the hospital.

SFX
TAP TAP

MATT
Sierra...

Panel 2
Matt and Cristy are standing there in front of Sierra in clothes that represent the weather at the time of this issue’s making. Sierra should be a bit groggy. And if Sierra’s dad is visible, the top part of his head should be in bandages, his left leg and right arm should be in casts, and he should be asleep.

SIERRA
Hmm? Oh, hi Matt...
... Cristy.

MATT:
Jeez, you look like crud. How’s your dad?

SIERRA
He’s okay. He’s just asleep.

CRISTY
Oh, good. So, you wanna go to the movies with us?

SIERRA
Naw, I’ll just stay here a little longer.

Panel 3
Matt and Cristy leave through the door.

Panel 4
Sierra begins to cry, putting her face in her hands. Believe me when I say this is not one of her better days.

PAGE 3, 4 PANELS

Panel 1
Matt and Cristy are just down the hall about five doors away from Sierra.

MATT
Shoot.

CRISTY
What?

MATT
I forgot to ask Sierra something. Be right back.

Panel 2
Matt’s now right next to the door to Sierra’s dad’s room.

Panel 3
Matt’s looking into Sierra’s room sort of in the same way you did that pic of Skin for the Academy, except it’s Matt, the lamppost is instead the door, and Matt’s worried.

MATT
Uh oh.

Panel 4
Looking into the room from behind Matt, we find no Sierra and the window is wide open, a breeze blowing on the open curtains.

PAGE 4, 2 PANELS

Panel 1
Big panel. About 3 times bigger than the next panel, in fact. Sierra’s in her Alien-Girl costume, crying, her eyes burning with rage, flying through the air in full fury.

Panel 2
From an overview, a man snatches a purse from a lady.

PAGE 5, 3 PANELS

Panel 1
View from the side of the purse snatcher as Sierra comes full-force on him from the air.

CAPTION (SIERRA)
Why is it...

Panel 2
Sierra’s punching the guy, enraged and looking as though she’s possessed.

CAPTION (SIERRA)
... that whenever life is picture perfect...

Panel 3
Close up on Sierra’s face. She’s really mad and should look (dare I say it) a bit pycho-ish.

CAPTION (SIERRA)
.. life takes a nose-dive?

PAGE 6, 4 PANELS

Panel 1
Close up on Sierra’s face, madder than the last time, bit of sweat and tears coming off her face.

Panel 2
Close up on the thief’s face, scared stiff.

Panel 3
Close up on Sierra’s face, now looking not mad but more sad and understanding.

Panel 4
Sierra flies off, tears coming from her eyes but with no rage this time. Note that a police officer should be running toward the spot of the attack.

PAGE 7, 3 PANELS

Panel 1
Matt and Cristy walk past the Space Needle. Cristy looks happy, but Matt looks a bit worried, for obvious reasons.

MATT
I hope Sierra’s okay.

CRISTY
She’ll be fine. She’s tougher than you think.

Panel 2
Matt looks at the top of the Space Needle and sees someone sitting on the edge. Matt should look curious.

Panel 3
Zoom in on the person to show that it’s a very depressed Alien-Girl.

MATT THOUGHT
God, I hope you’re right, Cristy.

PAGE 8, 4 PANELS

Panel 1
Focus on Sierra.

SIERRA THOUGHT
I don’t understand life one bit.
Just a few months ago I discovered my powers. Man, that was cool.

Panel 2

SIERRA THOUGHT
Now I can’t even enjoy them.
The boy I love loves someone else.
Dad’s in the hospital.
I need money.

Panel 3

SIERRA THOUGHT
Might as well cope with it: my life sucks.

Panel 4
Sierra flies away.

PAGE 9, 4 PANELS

Panel 1
Sierra (in civilian clothes) walks into her dad’s hospital room.

SIERRA
Dad?

Panel 2
Sierra sees her dad, sitting up and awake

DAD
Hey, kiddo.

SIERRA
Man, I’m so glad you’re okay.

DAD
You and me both.

Panel 3

DAD
The doctors say I’ll be able to leave tommarow.

SIERRA
Cool.

Panel 4
Sierra and her dad hug.

SIERRA
I love you, Dad.

DAD
Ditto.

PAGE 10, 3 PANELS

Panel 1
Sierra sits on her couch at home watching some tv and eating some ice-cream (straight out of the box even). You can tell she’s happy.

SIERRA THOUGHT
Glad Dad’s better. Too bad he’ll be in a wheel chair for the next two months.

Panel 2
Looking a little less happy, but not much.

SIERRA THOUGHT
I still can’t help but feel that this is my fault. I mean, would that cat-girl have attacked us if I wasn’t a superhero?

Panel 3

SIERRA THOUGHT
Well, might as well get used to it...

PAGE 11, SPLASH PAGE

Splash page of Sierra’s villains she’ll be fighting next issue, the Seven Sins, diving through the air. Their roster includes the rich, handsome, and smart Pride (male), Envy (female) who is the exact opposite of Pride, Lust (female) who kills any man she falls in love with, Wrath (male) who’s “pure psycho” and just loves to kill, Gluttony (male) who is a cannibal, Sloth (make) who doesn’t want to be a villain (don’t worry, I’ll explain it next issue), and Greed (male) who’s a burglar. They’ve just now escaped out of jail, so they should be in jail suits and Gluttony should have a muzzle over his face.

CAPTION (SIERRA)
... cause you never know what’s around the corner.
