NOT QUITE TERRESTRIAL #5
BY NATE RAYMOND

ISSUE SYNOPSIS
Sierra's origin's revealed as she meets Shawn Collins and S-409 face-to-face.

ITEMS THAT NEED DESIGNING

SHAWN'S OFFICE: This should look very big. Giant computer screens, a desk, and lots of decorations of the weird sort. We should be able to see, like, a skeletonized mermaid, a photo of Shawn with JFK, crap like that. Just put anything you can possibly think of that sounds neet in there.

SIERRA'S CELL: Should be like a basic jail cell. Should be dirty. Dark. Empty. Sierra should be on a bed matress with no sheets when she wakes up. There should be a toilet and sink, probably. The hall next to it is narrow and dark as well. The cell is closed off by metal bars.

MATT'S BOAT AND THE DOCK: Glock, since you're drawing this and (from the sounds of it) live in a city with boats and docks, I'll just trust you can handle this. But if not, reference Perfect Storm, there's isn't too bad.

CHARACTERS TO DESIGN

THE MOTHMAN: Well, there is no difinitive way for him to be drawn, so I'll simply give you several pics to reference for ideas.

PAGE 1, SPLASH PAGE

SIERRA stands in front of SHAWN and S-409 in the same room she entered in the last page of issue #4. And, yes, the line is the exact same as it was in the end of #4, I did that on purpose, so don't yell at me!

SHAWN
We've been expecting you.

PAGE 2, 3 PANELS

PANEL 1
SIERRA looks shocked to have found SHAWN and S-409, but SHAWN looks almost ruthless as he teases her about his knowledge of her as S-409 follows him closely.

SHAWN
Oh, don't look so surprised, SIERRA. After the theater incident and you running into S-409 here and Mary Campbell...

PANEL 2
SHAWN pulls out a cigarrette.

SHAWN
... you should have known something was up.

SIERRA
What is this place?

PANEL 3
SHAWN lights a cigarrette with his back facing SIERRA.

SHAWN
That involves a long story...

PAGE 3, SPLASH PAGE

A montage of scenes of SHAWN and company. A young SHAWN in Roswell, New Mexico looking at a crashed UFO (1947). SHAWN cradling a baby S-409 (1984). SHAWN and some MIB chasing after the Mothman in a black car.

SHAWN
In 1947, a spacecraft crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. I had only recently joined the FBI and, as I was at the scene at the time, I was ammediately reassigned to head a new program. During the past decades we've covered-up for various paranormal events, like that Mothman mess.

PAGE 4, 4 PANELS

PANEL 1
SHAWN turns suddenly to SIERRA.

SHAWN
But when you were born... we shifted our focus.

SIERRA
Uh... why?

PANEL 2
SHAWN puffs smoke into SIERRA's face.

SHAWN
Because, my dear, you have no human father.

PANEL 3
SHAWN moves some more.

SHAWN
When Ms. Campbell first discovered she was pregnant, she reported it as a virgin birth as she claimed she had been visited by angels a previous night and had never had sexual relations.

PANEL 4
SHAWN puts out his cigarrette.

SHAWN
Of course, this was wrong. The "angel" was an alien.

PAGE 5, 5 PANELS

PANEL 1
Interlude. MATT is on the docks getting off his commercial fishing boat. EMILY can be seen walking up to him as MATT is talking to other fishers.

MATT
God, what a terrible take.

FISHER
No kidding.

MATT
Oh well, I've gotta go, see ya in a week.

PANEL 2
MATT starts walking, but EMILY approaches him.

EMILY
Heya, sexy, what's up?

MATT
Um, not much. Came up with squat today.

PANEL 3
EMILY strokes MATT'S loose hair out of his face.

EMILY
Oh, that's too bad. Well, to make up for it, why don't you let me give you a treat.

PANEL 4
MATT pushes her hand away.

MATT
That's kind of you, but I'm with SIERRA now, okay?

EMILY
Oh, well, I'm with someone now too. But he's out of town now too... like your SIERRA.

PANEL 5
MATT yells in her face.

MATT
Listen, I'm sick of this! Yes, you're pretty. Yes, I once liked you. But I love SIERRA and you need to leave me alone!

PAGE 6, 5 PANELS

PANEL 1
Well, now that we're done with that EMILY crap, it's time to get back to the main story. SIERRA puts her hands to her head as she reads SHAWN's mind.

PANEL 2
SIERRA looks very scared now as she picks up a stray thought of SHAWN's.

SIERRA
Wait... oh my god, you can't do that to me... I will not let you lock me up like those creatures downstairs.

SHAWN
You're a threat to security. You've discovered this place. If you were anyone else I'd kill you myself right now. But you're too important.

PANEL 3
SIERRA puts a hand to the security belt that came with the suit. There's a gun on the side.

SIERRA
Well I won't let you.

PANEL 4
S-409 jumps on SIERRA.

PANEL 5
SIERRA looks amused at S-409 as SIERRA sees a sword hanging on SHAWN's wall.

SIERRA
Oh, come now, we just did this.

Sorry child, but this is for the nation's own good.

SIERRA walks down the hall. Suddenly, someone off panel yells at her.

GUARD (O.P.)
Freeze!

PANEL 2
SIERRA smiles as a guard points his gun at her.

SIERRA
Don't mess with me right now.

PANEL 3
The guard is pulled up to the ceiling.

SIERRA
I've almost been killed three times this month...

PANEL 4
The guard's gun flies out of his hand into SIERRA's.

SIERRA
... I've discovered I'm not really human...

PANEL 5
SIERRA walks down the hall loaded as the guard lies on the ceiling.

SIERRA
... and my dad is dead. Please. Now's not a good time.

PAGE 10, 3 PANELS

PAGE 11, SPLASH PAGE

The bullets hit S-409.

PAGE 12, 5 PANELS

PANEL 1
SIERRA smiles.

SHAWN
I'll let you know that S-409 cost us $40,000,000 to create.

SIERRA
What a waste. Now I have some questions for you.

PANEL 2
SHAWN smiles.

SHAWN
Fine. But first, I warn you, that gun will most likely blow-up in about five seconds.

PANEL 3
A panel of SIERRA's now-very-wide eyes.

PANEL 4
She throws the gun into the air.

PANEL 5
The gun explodes as SIERRA jumps away.

PAGE 13, 4 PANELS

PANEL 1
SHAWN laughs as SIERRA dusts herself off.

SHAWN
Like that? It's of my own design, it's a great way to rid yourselves of untrustworthy agents.

PANEL 2
SHAWN pulls out a gun a points it at SIERRA.

SHAWN
Well, time for you to go.

PANEL 3
Shot of SIERRA's eyes pissed.

SIERRA
No...

PANEL 4
Another shot, very similar, but now SIERRA's eyes are blank (a la issue #1)

SIERRA
... you go.

PAGE 14, SPLASH PAGE

SIERRA shoots out a psi-bolt at SHAWN, but this time she's on the ground unlike issue #1. Let's also see the background and do it at a side perspective as SHAWN flies backword through the air.

SIERRA
Good. Time to go home.

PAGE 16, 4 PANELS

PANEL 1
The real SHAWN COLLINS stands above his clone's dead body. The real S-409 can be seen in the background.

SHAWN'S LOG ENTRY
August 7, 2000 - Today I dealt with the SIERRA problem. She thinks I and S-409 are dead. Ah, the wonders of cloning.

PANEL 2
SHAWN looks out his window to see SIERRA run off.

SHAWN'S LOG ENTRY
She won't tell anyone. Afterall, then she'd have to mention her abilities. The public would harm her more than I would.

PANEL 3
S-409 sniffs her dead clone's body.

SHAWN'S LOG ENTRY
But I know soon enough we'll run into each other again. We have to.

PANEL 4
SHAWN pets the living S-409 while she stares at the dead body and he looks onward.

SHAWN'S LOG ENTRY
There's still so much for us still to do.

CAPTION
The End... for now.
