Real Name: Sean Cassidy Current Team: X-Corps Past Teams: Generation X, X-Men, Interpol, Factor Three, NYPD First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #28 Age: mid 40's Nationality: Irish Known Family: Maeve Cassidy (wife)(dead), Thomas Cassidy (cousin), Theresa Rourke (daughter) Powers Banshee possesses the ability to scream at sonic-high levels. His scream is so high pitched and strong it is capable of shattering objects, hypnotize people, or render foes unconscious History Banshee began his career as a member of Interpol. Later, after the death of his wife, Banshee turned criminal and became a foe of the original X-Men. Many years later, he was recruited as a member of the new X-Men. Recently, he has faced the destiny which Bishop has told him of: becoming the headmaster of Generation X. After Gen X After that the Massachesetts Academy is closed and in the wake of the death of his love, Moira Mactaggert, Sean went home to Ireland. He went on to fund the militant X-Corps of Europe which featured both former villains of the X-Men and former members of Generation X. However, the X-Corps quickly fell apart as villainous members of the group betrayed the team causing a mutant war in Paris. During this, Banshee's throat was slit by Mystique. He survived but is now unable to speak.
