Powers
Emma has telepathy, which allows her to read minds, project thoughts, and even possess peoples' minds. She also has latent telekinesis. Also, most recently she has developed a "secondary mutation" which allows her to grow an organic diamond exoskeleton at will that is nearly impenetrable.

History
Emma Frost was once a member of the Hellfire Club. While she was with the Hellfire Club, she trained a young group of mutants known as the Hellions. When they were brutally murdered by Fitzroy, Emma decided that if the Hellions had been trained by both her and Xavier, they would have survived Fitzroy's attack. She became the headmistress of the next generation of X-Men, Generation X, in hopes that she might redeem herself for what happened to the Hellions. However, she returned to her murderous ways, which became a main reason for the kids of Generation X to leave the group.

After Gen X
Emma went on to become a member of the X-Men, teaching at Xaviers revamped, large school for mutants. It was during this time that her new abilities of crystalization developed.

Notes and Personal Thoughts
Is it just me, or is it whenever a comic says "Emma's back to her evil ways," she's just a little P.O.ed? Moral of the story: never expect Emma to be truly evil ever again.
