Ya know, there's a lot of cool little factoids about this movie. Well...
maybe not cool, but interesting. Well... maybe not even that, this is the
Generation X movie we're talking about. Anyone, try to enjoy
these factoids, they might help in your quest to understand this god-awful
movie.
- The dream-machine helmet was reused later that same year
by the same production crew in
Doctor Who
.
- A big goof in the movie is that, while Jubilee is Virtua
Fighter, in fact the screen shows the between-games demo and the legend "Insert
Coin."
- The video game sequence is directly inspired by
X-Men: The Animated Series
. In the first episode, "Night of the Living Sentinels," Jubilee nearly
blows up an arcade game after running away from home.
- First Marvel movie since 1990's Death of the Incredible
Hulk .
- The budget was more than $4 million dollars.
- Primary shooting lasted twenty-four days. The movie was filmed
primarily in Vancouver, British Columbia.
- The Danger Room sequence was filmed in the Edge Climbing Center
in Vancouver.
- The codenames for Buff and Refrax were created by Scott Lobdell,
co-creator of the comic book.
- Buff and Refrax were to get their own action figures and join
the comic book had the movie been successful.
- Jeremy Ratchford carried a trading card of Banshee while on
the set.
- Amarilis became hooked on the comic series and owned, as of
February 1996, every issue except for issue #3.
- Agustin Rodriguez performed twice with actress Finola Hughes.
First in the television movie "Generation X", and again in the television
series "Charmed". His character in his "Charmed" guest-appearance
was named "Inspector Espinoza." Skin's real name is Angelo Espinoza.
- Joely Collins, daughter of singer Phil Collins, cameos as Jeannie.
